Our little gem in the old town up for sale (Tarifa, Spain).

90M2 – 30M2 Rooftop terrace – patio and storage room.

Our home is a unique little jewel ! Contemporary and stylish home hidden in the heart of the old town only a few steps from the port. You enter a a typical Andalusian patio with its 16th century arches to climb up to our first floor, consisting of an open-space living room and kitchen. You have a cosy modern living room, a fully equipped open kitchen and a recently renovated bathroom – with bathtub.

On the second floor, the amazing ensuite master bedroom. The room is spacious, bright and very romantic with old wooden floor and gray ceiling beams.

On the third floor you will find the stairway landing, leading to a large private white roof terrace with pergola, chill out corner and a built in bbq with a view on the old town and the San Fransisco church.

– White-gray Mortex floor on 1st floor (also used by the designer Philippe Starck)
– Floor heating in the first floor bathroom
– Hand painted Tarifa tiles in the bathroom of the master bedroom
– Bakelite plugs and switches
– Few neighbors

The newest interior project !

Here you can follow the latest project by TheMarigold! We are redoing the restaurant Casa Chez Papou in Tarifa, Spain. The restaurant clearly had an image problem from the start and the interior didn’t attract much people because of its dark walls and furniture.

The idea was to give it a new and more attractive touch, to brighten everything up on the inside and to have a more visible facade. We chose to do this by bringing in some eclectic  modern art and by painting all the furniture inside and outside in white (mixed with sand from the beach for a more rough and used touch). Firouz Farman-Farmaian then did some of his famous dripping in orange and red on each table and we covered the grey walls with a vibrant painting in 6 pieces to finalize the new artistic image of the restaurant.

On the tables you now find painted African pumpkins as candle holders and above the bar an old surfboard that Firouz has painted in the same color scheme.

The place is today an arty spot in Tarifa, famous for its original decor and its chicken dishes so do pop in for a bite and some of Papou’s famous cocktails if you happen to be in South of Spain !

Firouz Farman-Farmaian Exhibit & Residency 2014

Firouz Farman-Farmaian is showing 13 pieces in collaboration with the hotel Posada La Sacristia in Tarifa, Spain. For this show the artist was inspired by the elements of nature and more specifically by the 2 winds in Tarifa; the levante and the poniente. It’s a striking serie with vibrant colors conveying a message of depth and emotion. Taking a closer look at the pieces you will see the powerful interaction of energy and nature that the artists is so known for.
