I fell for this airy, Scandinavian home ! What an apartment ! The architectural features of the building are just so beautiful that only a simple and elegant interior like this would do it justice. The designers at Bybon are responsible for the interior of this fabulous home.
As you probably noticed, my list turns very much around the tones and shades of blue, green and grey. Those are all cold colors and that’s what I like having around me and they are colors I feel good around. Make your own inspirational list at home, you might like warm colors or maybe even neutrals. Share your list with me, I cannot wait to see what kind of inspiration you have found for your new fall home !
If you love color and mix matching you will love this playful house in Ibiza. Owned by a Dutch couple, it is straight out of a fairy tale with whimsical elements all coming in electric shades, against a clean white canvas. It is a dynamic house with such an eclectic mix of color and textiles, you truly feel the identity of the family in the creation of this home. Wonderful !
I live just across the strait from Morocco and Morocco is one of my absolute favorite destinations (as you probably have noticed already !). Every single time I visit, I am stunned and amazed by the beautiful Moroccan interiors and architecture. And let’s not forget the tiles !!
Characterized by intricate carvings, arched doorways, and colorful fabrics, it should come as no surprise that Moroccan interior design has become very popular around the world.
Here, for your inspiration, are a few of my favorite examples.
I’m redoing my roof terrace and actively looking for some cool inspiration so I thought I’d share some of my finds with you ! A shallow balcony can be a welcome respite or a way to take in a summer breeze. When the weather is nice, a terrace or balcony can extend your square meterage, giving you more space for entertaining, dining or relaxing. However, it’s not only fantastic hours up there in the summer, but in the real estate market, outdoor space is gold. It’s expensive, it’s rare, and it can add enormous value to a home.
Here are some ideas to create an amazing outdoor space, no matter how small…
Photographer Philip Dixon created this Moroccan style retreat almost 20 years ago and it looks likes something out of a dream ! I am especially impressed by the magical garden and the calming water; the incredible river like pool running through the house. The inside/outside features of the house with the different spaces blending in together is another wonderful part of the house. This sanctuary reflects his unique vision; a finely tuned aesthetic of minimalism, natural beauty and ethnic accents.
It feels worlds away… Have a look for yourselves !
This is such fabulous find ! It is the dream of any person that’s passionate about interiors with a creative twist.
This Italian brand makes the most incredible wallpapers I’ve ever seen ! It is a completely new approach to wall decoration. Wall & Deco has a unique design and a very strong visual impact. From photographs to wall paintings, from tromp-l’oeils to macro-designs on material effect backgrounds – all these designs are cleverly turned into vertical wall patterns, with truly original visual effects.
Apart from the initial contemporary wallpaper line the brand proposes 2 exceptional systems :
The Outdoor Wallpaper. It is a wall covering system for external walls and facades that successfully meets its main purpose, a high decorative value, as well as major structural features which are able to strengthen the wall surface it is applied to: it does not crack, tear or cause abrasions.
The Shower Wallpaper. It is the patent pending technical wall covering for bathrooms, showers and damp spaces that combines the waterproof properties of liquid membranes with the highly decorative features of Wall&decò wall coverings.
Stylist Marie Olsson Nylander’s home is stunning, there are no other words to describe this home ! It is an ecectic interior full of suprising details. What I love the most is of course her sens of style, how to make different pieces and different times work together in total harmony, just a perfect mix of eclectic antiques and contemporary pieces.
In a couple of days I’m finally going back to Paris ! Even if it’s only for a few days this time, I’m really looking forward to Inès de la Fressange’s newly opened shop on rue de Grenelle. For me she incarnates the French chic at its best !
It’s a shop full of limited editions and exclusive finds but it’s not a concept store, more like a bazaar. The clothes are stocked alongside other designers’ work, objets, home furnishings, sculptures and shoes are all mixed together. It’s a chic combination of new and vintage fashion and home decor.
“You may go in to try on shoes or a dress,” De la Fressange says. “But you could well leave with a broom, a throw, or a pencil sharpener in the shape of an iron.”
