Where to get the best affordable art online.

Here are some of my favourite online sources for original artworks, photography and prints.  We can all agree that no room is complete without art, so wheather you’re buying for yourself  or just out for an original gift, it’s about to get exciting !

Society6 : Everything from cheeky sayings to watercolor florals, nature scenes, and abstracts can be had for as little as 20eur.

‘A certain kind of magic’ by LouiJouverArt

SaatchiArt : Original works, which include photography, collage, painting, and sculpture, start at 200eur, and limited-edition prints at 90eur.

‘Ink on Paper 289’ by Frederic Belaubre

Artfinder : The site sorts its offerings by both style and medium, making it easy to browse the more than 200,000 pieces (including abstract paintings, sculpture, photography, collage, and digital art), all of which are signed by the artist. Prices start at 30eur.

‘Sharp’ by Ann Zhuleva

Paper Collective : The company collaborates with artists, designers, and illustrators to create prints, posters, cards, and accessories that are certified eco-friendly with a seal from the Danish government. On top of that, 10 percent of the sale proceeds for each work goes to a charity of the artist’s choosing.

‘Resting Feet’ by Julie Pilke

20×200 : Their goal is to provide art for everyone. The 1,000 editions the site has produced so far range from 30eur to 10,000eur and each is produced exclusively for 20×200.

Presenting Salima Abdel-Wahab

Salima Abdel-Wahab is my latest discovery in the world of fashion and I wanted to share her with you today. She is not only a designer but also a true artist.

For me, her clothes are like pieces of art, the way fashion should be (but very seldom is) ! The collections embody her mixed cultural background and origins. You can feel her strong personality in the clothes, like a statement of her unique style and her inner world of imagination.

Salima Abdel-Wahab

Her universe is colorful and diverse, a fantastic mixture of textures, styles and colors ! There is a feeling of bohemia and poetry in her creations, always close to nature and flowers. You leave with a sensation of strongness and of softness, both at the same time, probably a reflection of her true diversity…

The newest interior project !

Here you can follow the latest project by TheMarigold! We are redoing the restaurant Casa Chez Papou in Tarifa, Spain. The restaurant clearly had an image problem from the start and the interior didn’t attract much people because of its dark walls and furniture.

The idea was to give it a new and more attractive touch, to brighten everything up on the inside and to have a more visible facade. We chose to do this by bringing in some eclectic  modern art and by painting all the furniture inside and outside in white (mixed with sand from the beach for a more rough and used touch). Firouz Farman-Farmaian then did some of his famous dripping in orange and red on each table and we covered the grey walls with a vibrant painting in 6 pieces to finalize the new artistic image of the restaurant.

On the tables you now find painted African pumpkins as candle holders and above the bar an old surfboard that Firouz has painted in the same color scheme.

The place is today an arty spot in Tarifa, famous for its original decor and its chicken dishes so do pop in for a bite and some of Papou’s famous cocktails if you happen to be in South of Spain !
